Jean Gwyn: Royal Victoria Hospital

The other day I was called to the A&E dept, to meet with relatives whose loved one had just died. The place was swarming with people, many on trolleys waiting for beds, with anxious relatives beside them. In the buzz I heard my name being called and turned to see a lady from my previous congregation. I spent some time with her in her distress, and she was relieved to see a familiar face in that place. A chance meeting?
I felt nothing but admiration for staff as they calmly and systematically dealt with so many cases in such trying circumstances.
Please pray for all hospital staff, especially with the high demands at this time of year.
Remember the Chaplaincy team as we support and encourage staff and patients in times of stress and trauma."
