Change has been the motivating theme of PW this year and this has been the reality for me in Gardenmore.  In August the team of five was reduced to two - the retired minister and myself.  The first nine months of the year was a time of keeping going with the routine of visiting and helping out with the different organisations.  However, now we are in a time of transition, and as I have worked alongside Rev Cathcart and our Convener, Rev McClure, it has been a delight to see how God has graciously kept the work within the church manageable.  The church is not standing still during the vacancy, however, and I have enjoyed taking part in the different events that have been run to bring the congregation together.  It has also been a joy to see the refurbishment of our halls being completed.  This has transformed the environment in which we hold so many of our meetings.

One of the highlights of 2008 was the Holiday Bible Club in July, when we had the experience of catering for nearly two hundred children - plenty of noise and fun, but tremendous opportunities to build relationships with the parents and children in Larne.  Another pleasure in the past year was facilitating the ladies Bible study again - this time centred on the wonderful theme of God’s covenantal love.  It was tremendous to see over twenty ladies from different churches coming together to learn from God’s Word.

I have experienced change in so many different ways and this has helped me to realise that change ought to be part of our ongoing walk with God as our relationships grow with Him and with each other.  One of my greatest joys is seeing how relationships deepen, and I continue to enjoy the challenge this brings.  I am also greatly encouraged when I have the opportunity of meeting different PW Groups through deputation.  Thank you for your warm response and your prayers, which God faithfully answers, as I have the joy of continuing to serve Him in Gardenmore.
