Sheila Sutter: Kells Presbyterian Church

The new year began and continued as the old year had ended - ‘ … the Lord added to (our) Church those who were being saved.’ (Acts 2:47)
Mums & Tots continued as the springboard into the community to reach mums and child-minders.  From this began our outreach ‘Time Out 4U’ – two
six-week programmes for mums of pre-school and primary school children.  Our PW ladies provide child care for pre-schoolers from 9.15-11.00 am.  Breakfast is provided for the young mums, and this is followed by an hour long programme constructed mainly with them in mind, ending with a spiritual ‘thought for the week’.  Friendships have deepened between the girls and the carers and servers.  From each of the two sessions the Lord called one young mum to faith and trust in Him.  I know how privileged Kells is to have such a team of helpers supporting this work, and I continually give thanks to the Lord for them.  Each morning we meet for prayer before and after our group.
In August a work party of 20+ members went from Kells to Hungary.  We did painting, plastering, fence-building and cooking and led a Holiday Bible Club of young people aged from 8-20+ years.  The spiritual thirst of these young people was amazing, as was their good behaviour and enthusiasm!
Deputation again entered my diary in September on completion of my first year in Kells.  I have been as blessed in my time spent with you as Presbyterian Women as I was when we were PWA.  Please continue to pray for our work as Deaconesses.
My prayer for each of you is Acts 20:32:  Now I entrust you to God and the message of His grace that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance with all those He has set apart for Himself.
