God has been teaching me the importance of ‘going back to basics’ throughout 2008. He has been showing me how much my basic beliefs in Him impact my day-to-day life and how important it is to trust Him in all circumstances. When we know that we are loved and accepted by God, that we are forgiven completely, that He is at work changing and perfecting us - when we truly believe these things - it does affect how we live and relate to the people around us. My involvement in our ‘Alive to God’ course has been a huge blessing to me because it helped me to refocus on the ‘basics’ and to be real about my faith with the ladies in my group. I have seen God work in the lives of many people through this course as they grapple with issues of faith.
Along with a number of great helpers, I have been involved in the re-opening of our parent and toddlers group called ‘Coffee With Kids’ and this has been a real joy. We see potential in this group and we are praying that we will see lives transformed by Jesus. We are also praying for wisdom in how to expand this ministry for those who would desire more Bible input.
Sunday School continues to provide tremendous opportunity to impact children’s lives, and our heart is to see many children become real followers of Jesus.
I have also enjoyed travelling around the country on deputation – thank you for welcoming me into your PW Groups and churches. It is great to meet people who care and pray for the work that we Deaconesses do – thank you! May God bless each one of you as you seek to follow Jesus and make Him known wherever you live and work.
