Irish Mission: Tom Dowling - Kilkenny
My name is Tom Dowling. I was born and grew up in Co. Carlow near the village of Borris which is situated 17 miles from Kilkenny.
Having heard and investigated the Good News of the Gospel, I trusted Jesus as my Saviour in 1989. As time went on, God gave me the desire to bring the Gospel to others that they too might come to faith in Him. God called me to do this full time through the work of the Irish Mission. Following training at the Irish Bible Institute, I was placed in Kilkenny and have been working there with Kilkenny Presbyterian Church since September 2006. At present my work mainly involves bringing the Gospel to people through door-to-door visitation and Christianity Explored courses. I also teach English as a Second Language using the Bible. Please feel free to contact me with any queries.
Prayer Requests:
While visiting door-to-door I met a lady who meets with a group of friends to read and discuss the Bible together. A few days later she rang with some questions. She has since come with a friend to a Christianity Explored meeting in a hotel to ‘check me out’. I’ve called to her house a number of times and we recently watched a DVD presentation of the gospel. She accepted an invitation to our Advent Carol Service and brought along another friend who was quite taken with David’s message about Christ’s first and second coming. Please pray for these contacts. Thank you.
